Can you tell I kinda like celebrating my birthday? Only this one is a pretty big one and I wasn't quite sure how I'd feel about it if I'm being totally honest. I mean when you're my son's age (8), someone who is turning 50 is like O-L-D! LOL. I guess I always felt a stigma around that number and it being the end instead of the beginning. And quite frankly I'm not even close to an ending. I tell my kids and my husband all the time that I'm going to live until I'm 100 and that they're stuck with me for a loooong time. It's a truth and a perspective I'd rather have as this milestone hits. I've spent the past 50 years learning what not to do, making big mistakes, surviving trauma and heartache and shame. So, I'm choosing for the next 50 years to start over and not be afraid of all the things that stopped me before. I'm choosing to learn and live and grow. I'm learning to grow in love and faith and peace. And quite frankly I love that for me :)
As I reach this day, I thought it would only be appropriate to share with you a few things I have learned along the way. In some ways I feel it's my duty as a woman to impart some wisdom to all of you in the hope that perhaps your journey can be a bit less turbulent.
There is only one you. You were put on this earth for a purpose. And no one else will ever be able to do what you were meant to do the same way as you. Embrace all that you are and don't worry about other people's journeys. You only get one shot at your own.
Our bodies change and evolve over time. Love the skin you're in and for all that you can do. You can always take steps to modify your look but learn to appreciate the body you have right now at this moment. Even if the only thing you can say you love is your left earlobe it's a start.
Remember that YOU are the most important person in your life. You will never be able to take care of all the people, animals, and things if you don't take care of you first. Treat yourself like you would your very best friend. Because if you don't love you, no else will be able to either.
Stop worrying so much! I promise you no one is watching you or judging you. And if they are judging you then you really don't need them in your life. Do what you want to do, take the chance, be bold, be brave, and listen to the still small voice in your heart.
Find something new to learn every day. Learning allows us to grow. It keeps our minds healthy and strong. And it just might lead you into the next adventure in your life.
I started this business because I knew that my purpose in life was to help other women see how extraordinary they are, just the way they are. And today I want to remind you that YOU ARE AMAZING! Thank you for being here with me.
With so much love,
Kimberly
